About me
Susan Shih is a dedicated educational leader whose work centers on collective impact, student well-being, and inclusive school culture. She currently serves as Principal in the Castro Valley Unified School District, where she leads with a strong commitment to equity, collaboration, and whole-child support. Prior to her principalship, Susan served as Assistant Principal in Castro Valley and held multiple leadership roles in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, including Vice Principal at both the middle and high school levels and Student Services Coordinator.
Susan’s leadership is deeply informed by her extensive background in mental health and social services, including work as a Psychiatric Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, and Assessment and Referral Specialist. This unique combination allows her to unite educators, families, and support systems to create coherent, compassionate, and impactful learning environments where students and adults can thrive together.
